Vestal Electronic Devices, Inc. provides innovative tape and reel solutions and services to the Electronics industry with an emphasis on high quality and quick turnaround. We currently offer a full range of tape and reel services for Surface Mount Devices (SMD) to provide maximum optimization and reliability of today's high speed automated printed circuit board assembly systems.

Vestal inventories a large number of the frequently used carrier tapes and has rapid availability to a wide variety of other sizes to minimize lead times. We offer both heat sealed cover tape and the new Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) cover tape from 3M. This new cover tape eliminates all of the disadvantages and inherent problems that have plagued SMD taped and reeled devices. PSA cover tape offers good shear strength, components are not exposed to adhesive, visual inspection and cover tape resealability. We feel this provides the end user a greatly improved product resulting in higher assembly machine efficiencies and throughput.

All of Vestal's SMD taping and reeling processes meet EIA-481-1A, -2 and -3 standards. Peel back force testing is provided on all work in process and all reels pass through our final inspection department. Your product is 100 percent inspected for part type, pin one orienta-
tion, lead condition and carrier to cover tape seal. ESD protection measures are strictly enforced and monitored in accordance with JEDEC Standard 108B.

Vestal's engineering staff will work with you to develop non-standard carrier tape to bring your SMD assembly process to its highest possible level. We can also provide custom bar code identification labels for individual reels and shipping cartons.

In addition to SMD taping and reeling, Vestal offers a full range of taping and reeling services for axial and radial leaded components. Vestal also provides component lead forming services, mechanical assembly services, supplies and insulated or bare jumper wire on tape and reel.
